Treatment spectrum for children and adolescents

In children and adolescents we treat the following disorders

  • Language development delays and disorders

  • Articulation disorders, phonetic/phonological

  • Auditory perception and processing deficits

  • Speech disorders in hearing impairment

  • Myofunctional disorders (swallowing dysfunction, e.g. in connection with orthodontic treatment)

  • Stuttering and stammering

  • Childhood voice disorders

Untreated language or speech disorders often lead to abnormalities in other areas of development. An awareness of the disorder can develop. In addition, deficits in auditory processing increase the risk of developing dyslexia. The earlier treatment begins, the better the symptoms can be eliminated.

Therapy areas for adults

  • Central language, speech and swallowing disorders, e.g. after a stroke (aphasia, dysarthria, dysphagia), also with tracheostomy tubes, e.g. patients in a vegetative state

  • Disturbances of the flow of speech (stuttering and cluttering)

  • Myofunctional disorders (muscle dysfunctions, e.g. in connection with orthodontic treatment or teeth grinding/snoring)

  • Paralysis of a facial nerve (facial palsy)

  • Voice therapy

    • in the case of an organic finding (e.g. nodule)

    • in case of paralysis of a vocal cord

    • for hoarseness, weakness, limited vocal range, constant clearing of the throat, feeling of exertion
